FRAZADA “JARDIN VERANIEGO”
This is my
version of Lucy’s (Attic 24) “Summer Garden Blanket”. It was specially made for a baby girl.
These grannys
have 4 rows. I used the first two for
the flower (in color), and the last two rows for the background (in white).
I used a
mixture of medium acrylic yarn, mainly Caron Simply Soft, and others from my
stash. I used a hook 4.5 mm, though the
yarn calls for a 5 mm (yes, you guessed it...I crochet a little loosely).
I made the
border with the mosaic stitch—the same I used for my 3rd PlaidGranny Blanket. For the final row: *sc over each dc (3), and then 3chains (a picot would do as well)*. Simple, but cute.
You can
find the pattern in the blog Attic24: “Summer Garden Granny Square”. There is
also a link in Ravelry, in case you want to mark it as a favourite.

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful - I'm thinking I might do a granny square, its a good project to do bit by bit and keep coming back too - I love the colours with the cream backdrop - really pretty combo x
ReplyDeleteYes, that is what I love about granny blankets. One granny at a time, and you feel you are progressing...
DeleteIt's beautiful Ana I love your choice of colours :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I just finished a similar blanket.

ReplyDeleteHi Ana, Thank you for re-igniting my passion for crochet - I love your colours and designs. With this Summer Garden Blanket, how do you do the final pink edging?
ReplyDeleteCheers, Lisa S at SunsetSeams.blogspot.com (Australia)
I completetly forgot to mention the last row. Thanks for pointing it out. It is actually VERY simple: sc over each dc (3), and 3 chains over the 1ch-space (a picot would do as well).
DeleteI am glad you are loving crochet again. It is so versatile, and fun. And, can I say "easier"? At least for me, it is. But I love knitting too, and I have some projects coming along...
Thanks again, Lisa.
It's beautiful, the colours are lovely together.

Thank you all for your lovely comments!!! I am glad you all liked this blanket as much as I did. My aunt (and knitting partner) was also inspired by it, and is making one. I will show you when it is done. If you guys make one, I´d love to see it...
ReplyDeleteLove ♥ Ana BC
I think your blanket is wonderful! I love the colors that you chose and the border! You did an excellent job!
ReplyDeleteMe encanta. Es colorida y fina a la vez.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so beautiful! You are so talented. Thank you so much for linking up at Hookin On Hump Day! I've got to make a blanket like this one day!
ReplyDeleteAna, this blanket looks fantastic! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteTruly a winner! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful blanket. Do you mind if I ask how long it took you to make? And also, what is the size of it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your interest, Jessica. It took me just one month to make, because it is small (for a baby carriage). It measures 35x35" (or 89x89 cms.) It is so fun to make, and you rarely get bored because there are so many colours. The only boring thing are the loose ends, which you can fix as you move along instead of leaving for the end.
DeleteI hope this helps, and feel free to ask if you have more questions...

Hoola Ana!!
ReplyDeleteMe he venido a visitar tu blog!
Qué manta más guapa!! Me encanta!!
Saludos,
Ana BC
Hi Ana, this blanket is really beautiful - the colors, the edging, everything! Does it have a new owner yet?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara. The blanket will be a gift for a friend that is having her baby in October.
ReplyDeletereally beautiful - the colors, the edging, everything!
ReplyDeleteI love this blanket, the colours are beautiful. I have been reading and following your blog(s) for a very long time now. I was wondering, with this blanket in particular, how do you join the granny squares? There are so many options, but I love the one you've done. Thanks!
