It is not my original pattern, but it is my way of paying forward a gift that Kara from Petalsto Picots gave us last week.  I encourage you to go and check her post: “Granny Star Pattern”, because she has a wonderful story on how she came up with the gift of this cute crochet star.  There you can find the written pattern as well.

SWEET LITTLE LAMB

My mom made another crafty gift:  Notebooks adorned with a cute crochet lamb.

Mi linda madre nos hizo otro regalo tejido: una linda ovejita a ganchillo que adorna unos cuadernos para notas. 

For the gals in our knitting club…a large notebook, where we can jot down ideas, patterns, yarns, etc. of our knit/crochet projects.

Para las chicas del club de tejido…un cuaderno grande, donde podamos apuntar patrones, ideas, proyectos, lanas, etc, de nuestros proyectos de tejidos. 

For our prayer group…a small notebook that could be used as a prayer journal.

Para el grupo de oración…un pequeño cuaderno que puede usarse como diario de oración. 

The main feature of all these notebooks is a little crochet lamb, made with fine cotton thread, and accessorized with beads and mini-buttons. 

Todos los cuadernos están adornados con una pequeña oveja, hecha con hilo fino de algodón, con detalles de piedritas y botones diminutos. 

My mom fell in love with the little lamb when she first saw it in Raverly.  The pattern is called: Lamb Brooch, and it is designed by Vendula Maderska.  It was originally intended to be used as a brooch, but I guess you can use it as an appliqué for anything you fancy.

Mi mamá se enamoró de la ovejita cuando la vio por primera vez en Ravelry.  El patrón original se llama: Prendedor de Oveja (en inglés, Lamb Brooch), y fue diseñado por Vendula Maderska.  Originalmente estaba diseñado para ser un broche, pero en realidad puede ser usado como una aplicación para cualquier cosa. 

Notice how each lamb has its own personality…

Nótese que cada oveja tiene su propia personalidad…

Winter Star

When finished, it looks a little bit like a flower; but after blocking it, with pins in the tips, it turns into a star.
Primero, parece una flor; pero al bloquearlo con alfileres en las puntas, se convierte en una estrella.

LACY TOP with motifs

BLUSA CALADA DE MOTIFS

Now that it is summer in the Northern hemisphere, I thought of sharing with you some pictures of my latest motif top. 

Ahora que se acerca el verano en el hemisferio norte, pensé en mostrarles unas fotos de la última blusa calada hecho con motifs.

This was specially made for a relative who had bought a delicious linen yarn (Louet, Euroflax, 100% Wet Spun Linen).  She wanted something lacy, and I immediately thought of the Motif top. 

Esta blusa fue hecha especialmente para una pariente que había conseguido una lana deliciosa de lino (Louet, Euroflax, 100% Wet Spun Linen).  Ella quería algo calado, y de inmediato pensé en una blusa hecha con motifs. 

This top is made of 78 motifs, and two half-motif for the neck part.  They are joined as you go.  All the border is made with 5-chain arches all-around.  Instead of buttons, I made two chain-cords to tie in the front, with Swarovski beads at the end. 

Esta blusa está hecha con 78 motifs, y dos a la mitad para la parte del cuello.  Todos se van uniendo en el camino.  Todo el borde está hecho con arcos de 5 cadenas.  En lugar de botones, le hice dos cordones de cadenas, con cuentas Swarovski en las puntas.

Flower Motifs

In January, I joined the “Beyond the Square Challenge 2012”, organized by Barbara, through her blog “Crochet: Made inK-Town”.   She challenged us to make at least 100 of the 144 motifs found in the book: “Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs” (by Edie Eckman). 
En Enero me uní al “Reto Beyond the Square 2012”, organizado por Barbara a través de su blog: “Crochet: Made in K-Town”.  Ella nos retó a hacer por lo menos 100 de los 144 motifs del libro: “Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs” (de Edie Eckman).   

So far, I have made 36 . You can follow my progress by checking the tab: Motif Challenge 2012.  The last two I shared were these 2 flowers.  They follow basically the same pattern, but the only thing that changes is the center; yet, they look so different.

Hasta ahora he hecho 36 motifs.  Pueden seguir mi progreso visitando la pestaña: Motif Challenge 2012.   Las últimas que compartí fueron estas dos flores, que básicamente siguen el mismo patrón, pero lo único que cambia es el centro; aun así, se miran tan diferentes.

There is something about flowers that make people happy and smile.  If they are real, or even if they are made of yarn, thread, silk or paper, flowers brighten our day and embellish anything. 

Hay algo con las flores que nos hacen sonreír.  Ya sean de verdad o hechas con lana, hilo, seda o papel, las flores nos alegran el día y embellecen cualquier cosa. 

These are crochet flowers from my motif collection, and real flowers from my garden.
