DE CHAL A BLUSA

 

I am not a rebel at heart, but I confess I have a tendency of changing the rules a bit when it comes to patterns.  For me, patterns are ideas or suggestions, not rules set on stone.  Therefore, I tend to change patterns and adapt them to my own personal style.  Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not...  But here is one time when it did work, and I was very happy with the result:

No tengo un alma rebelde, pero debo confesar que tengo la tendencia de cambiar las reglas un poco en lo que referente a los patrones.   En lo personal, yo tomo los patrones como ideas y sugerencias, y no tanto como reglas escritas sobre piedra.  Por lo tanto, me gusta cambiar los patrones y adaptarlos a mi propio estilo personal.  A veces me funciona, y en otras ocasiones no...Pero esta es una instancia en que se me funcionó, y estoy contenta con el resultado:

Well, I transformed it into a lacy top...

Bueno, lo transformé en un blusón calado...

Instead of the last rows of the shawl, I closed it with a ribbed border.

En lugar de las últimas filas del chal, lo cerré con un borde de resorte. 

This lacy shawl/top was made with acrylic yarn (Cisne Rendidora, in grey).  But now, with the warmer weather, I am wishing to make one in cotton.  And I say “wishing” on purpose, because I do not know if I will be able to duplicate, because it was totally improvised...

Este Chal/blusa calado está hecho con una lana acrílica (Cisne Rendidora, en gris).  Pero ahora que ha llegado un clima más cálido, se desearía hacer uno en algodón.  Y digo “desearía” a propósito, porque no sé si pueda replicarlo, ya que lo hice completamente improvisado. 

I am thinking...I have to try this again!

LACY TOP with motifs

BLUSA CALADA DE MOTIFS

Now that it is summer in the Northern hemisphere, I thought of sharing with you some pictures of my latest motif top. 

Ahora que se acerca el verano en el hemisferio norte, pensé en mostrarles unas fotos de la última blusa calada hecho con motifs.

This was specially made for a relative who had bought a delicious linen yarn (Louet, Euroflax, 100% Wet Spun Linen).  She wanted something lacy, and I immediately thought of the Motif top. 

Esta blusa fue hecha especialmente para una pariente que había conseguido una lana deliciosa de lino (Louet, Euroflax, 100% Wet Spun Linen).  Ella quería algo calado, y de inmediato pensé en una blusa hecha con motifs. 

This top is made of 78 motifs, and two half-motif for the neck part.  They are joined as you go.  All the border is made with 5-chain arches all-around.  Instead of buttons, I made two chain-cords to tie in the front, with Swarovski beads at the end. 

Esta blusa está hecha con 78 motifs, y dos a la mitad para la parte del cuello.  Todos se van uniendo en el camino.  Todo el borde está hecho con arcos de 5 cadenas.  En lugar de botones, le hice dos cordones de cadenas, con cuentas Swarovski en las puntas.

Lacy Big Blouse in Gray/ Blusón Calado en Gris

First I made this as a shawl, but then decided to close it in the bottom, and turn it into a big lacy blouse.
I think it would look much better in a cotton thread.  May be I´ll make one.

Este blusón comenzó siendo un chal, pero decidí convertirlo cerrando la parte inferior con una puntada resorte.  Lo hice de lana, pero creo que quedaría mucho más lindo con un hilo de algodón.  Tal vez me haga uno.  ¿Qué les parece?

This is my latest invention: I mixed techniques in knit (the waist) and crochet (the top and trim).
I used acrylic wool: Caron Simply Soft, color Sage.
The brooch is made of wood.

La cintura está tejida en tricot, a lo largo.  La parte de arriba y la orilla está a crochet.

MOTIF TOPS

I have made several tops with crochet motifs.  They are made one by one.  The first one is made completly all around.  The others are joined to the other in the last round. 
He hecho varias blusas con aplicaciones (motif). Se hacen las cuadrados uno por uno, y en la última pasada se van uniendo.


FIERY RED MOTIF TOP (Blusa motif ROJO FUEGO)
Cotton, light weight yarn
Hilo mediano de algodón crudo teñido de rojo

This is the motif (Esta es la aplicación):

The motifs are joined as you go.  The number of motifs will depend on the yarn you use and the size you want it to be.  It is very flexible.  Here is a diagram of the motifs [squares] I used for the red top. I wanted a "V-shaped" neck, so I had to make 2 half-motifs.  For a rpund neck, susbtitute the half-motifs for complete ones.  If you want the top to be open, DO NOT join the motifs below the half-motifs. 

When all the square motifs are joined, you finish with a border of your choice, either sc's or shells.  For the red one, I did 3chains + 1sc [on the 5ch-space of the motif], and shells for the neck part.

Joining these motifs was more difficult, because I did it at the end.
La unión de este chaleco fue más complicada porque lo hice de último, cuando ya tenía todas las piezas hechas.

Se van tejiendo los cuadros (aplicaciones), y se van uniendo conforme se van haciendo.

Para quien queria hacerlo, aquí les pongo la puntada que utilicé:

 

ESta fue la primera blusita que hice con esta puntada.  Fue un regalo para mi sobrina.

Le dije que seguramente la amo mucho, porque me no fue fácil hacerla con un hilo fino (CLEA No. 5, color Natural). 

Yo me hice uno de color morado (pero hilo doble).

A veces pienso que estoy loca de hacer tejidos tan finos, pero este patrón no está tan mal ya que se van haciendo las aplicaciones y uniéndolas en la última pasada.  Esto lo hace divertido.

¿Alguien se anima a hacerlo?
